TIM Flowers has resigned as Alvechurch manager.
His decision came over the weekend after Saturday’s Southern League Premier Central defeat by Banbury United.
Flowers was appointed manager at Lye Meadow just over a year ago – after leaving Redditch United.
The result continued Alvechurch’s recent poor form which has seen them fall down the table.
They are now one place above the relegation zone – albeit eight points clear.
A club statement issued on Sunday reads: “We have today accepted the resignation of First Team Manager, Tim Flowers.
“We would like to thank Tim for his efforts, particularly coming into the club at a difficult time last season and preventing us from slipping into a relegation battle. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Flowers spoke to the club’s YouTube channel after the Banbury game and said: “Anyone with a school team can see our issues, recently anyway.

“It’s not just a losing run, we just cannot score a goal.
“You might as well replay my comments from the Halesowen game. It’s still the same.
“We create things at one end, but at the other end, we’re soft.
“It’s ridiculous how the season’s gone, it was looking good a few weeks ago.
“The run’s poor, it’s negative. But I’ll be honest about.
“Let’s see what transpires over the weekend. This is not a part-time job, it’s always on your mind.
“I’ve got some thinking to do and see the best way forward for everyone.”
