TIM Flowers has received a huge vote of confidence for his work at Alvechurch.
The former England international took over at Lye Meadow in mid-November and has overseen a big uptick in results.
Back-to-back derby victories over Redditch United and Bromsgrove prompted chairman Richard Thorndike to take to twitter to express his thanks for the work undertaken by the 58-year-old former Barnet and Solihull Moors chief.
Thorndike wrote: “The single most important target for me and the rest of the board is to tie this man down for next season.
“Completely turned our season around.”
Flowers took over after a dip in form under James Fry ended with the former Birmingham City trainee losing his job.
Fry’s campaign had started well – ‘Church were top of the Southern Premier Central Division at one stage – but a run of just one point in seven games ended with the club deciding to make a change.
They approached Redditch – who were lying third in the table at the time – for permission to speak to Flowers.
Alvechurch have moved clear of trouble and are now sitting comfortably in a mid-table position.
Thorndike clearly likes what he sees and is now working on a package to ensure Flowers stays in situ beyond the end of the current campaign.
