PHIL Brown admitted his side ‘can only beat what’s in front of them’ as Kidderminster Harriers fired six goals past struggling Farsley Celtic.
Amari Morgan-Smith and Ashley Hemmings both scored twice – with Reiss McNally and Kamran Kandola completing the scoring during a 6-0 Sunday stroll in West Yorkshire.
Farsley’s financial concerns have been well documented and Harriers faced a young Celtic team.
But Brown demanded 100 per cent from his play-off chasing team – and he got it.
Harriers needed just three minutes to open the scoring as McNally headed home.
Three minutes later, Morgan-Smith was played in for number two.
Kidderminster were three up after 17 minutes as Max Kouhyar set up Hemmings to score.
Kouhyar hit the post before supplying Morgan-Smith who put Harriers four up at the brea.
Kidderminster made it five, two minutes into the second half, when Hemmings netted from a narrow angle – and they added a sixth with 15 minutes left as sub Kondola scored from the edge of the area.
After last week’s outburst against his players, Brown has seen his side record two successive wins.
The Harriers boss said: “It’s been well documented, the state of play, with regards to their club, we can only play what’s in front of you.
“And regardless of whether people see them as 18th,19th or 20th team, it doesn’t matter they’ve still got 11 players out there.
“The mindset has got to be absolutely bang on with regards as to how you can play. I thought our mindset on Tuesday against King’s Lynn set the tone for this performance, and I was demanding a good start.
“We are a good team, there’s no doubt about it. But we trained on a dry pitch on Thursday and Friday, and got used to this game surface, hence the rewards came in the first few minutes.
“You run because you want to run. And maybe the kind of football that we play demands that kind of running. And I think the fitness levels, along with the quality, was the reason why we won so comprehensively.”
