SOLIHULL Moors manager Chris Millington felt there is more to come from his side after Saturday’s 1-1 National League draw with Wealdstone.
The Stones had goalkeeper Dante Baptiste to thank after stretching their unbeaten league run to six games.
Baptiste made a series of good saves, including late stops to deny Ben Worman and James Clarke as Mooors pressed in vain for a winner.
Emmanuel Sonupe had given Solihull a 32nd-minute lead when he beat the offside trap to lift the ball over Baptiste, but Omar Mussa rifled the equaliser within five minutes.
Solihull keeper Laurie Walker saved well from Jack Cook early in the second half and also tipped a late effort from Sak Hassan over the bar as both sides had late chances.
Millington told the club’s X account: “I don’t think we played well. There certainly wasn’t any lack of effort on the part of the lads.
“But we never really got our game going. We struggled to get hold of the ball well.
“We could’ve been a bit braver and controlled possession better.
“But in the second half, when we started to get our press right, we’ve created the best of the chances.
“So if you talk about the balance of the game, I’d say Wealdstone came away with more moments that they were trying to engineer by the way they play.
“But in actual fact, when you talk about the balance of the chances, we’ve had two one-on-ones with the keeper and a number of other good chances that have come off the counter attack from regaining the ball, high up the pitch.
“There have been moments when we’ve been very clinical in those moments and those opportunities. And here we weren’t.
“We’ve probably had the better of the chances and felt like we could and probably should have won it with those chances.”
