SOLIHULL Moors manager Matt Taylor admitted his ‘anger’ despite taking a point at Carlisle United on Tuesday.
Ex-Tamworth striker Dan Creaney fired the Moors ahead after 67 minutes – but Taylor felt Moors should have come away with all three points.
Terell Thomas struck 10 minutes from time to salvage a point – to leave both teams unbeaten so far this season in the National League.
Moors had started the stronger of the two sides and were denied a first-half opener when an offside flag ruled out Creaney’s 31st-minute strike.
But Creaney did get his goal in the 67th minute, capitalising on a defensive error to open the scoring.
Thomas levelled with a close-range effort in the 80th minute – and Solihull goalkeeper Laurie Walker made a couple of late saves to deny Carlisle victory.
But the result left Taylor frustrated after a third successive draw.
He told the club’s X account: “I said on Saturday the players didn’t trust each other enough, but we definitely did.
“I haven’t seen Dan’s first goal, so I don’t know if it’s offside, it looked tight to me.
“But he takes his second goal really well and we capitalised an error from the opposition. He showed that composure and that’s now him off the mark for us, which is really important for us.
“To a man, I just thought the players were excellent, especially some of the blocks they made at the end.
“But I’ll be very honest with you, my big emotion is anger, because that should have been three points, not one.
“That shows how far the group have come and also it shows the expectation that they now have on each other. We spoke at the hotel and said we were coming here for three points.
“That might sound slightly crazy because it was a team that was in League One a couple of seasons ago.
“But that’s how the balls are feeling, that’s how I feel about them and it’s really important that we continue this momentum.
“We’ve got three points out of three, but that should be five points.”
