KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Adam Murray admitted he was pleased to see his side rewarded for victory by moving to fifth spot in the National League North.
Harriers beat Chorley 3-1 at Aggborough in front of almost 2,500.
Michael Gyasi – on loan from King’s Lynn – put Kidderminster ahead after 16 minutes with his first goal for the club.
But Harriers had to wait for two late strikes from Kurt Willoughby and Luke Spokes to seal the points.
That was after an own goal from Charlie Cooper – making his debut on loan from Yeovil Town – had levelled it up.
Murray told the club’s YouTube channel: “We opened up the game at the right time. We knew Chorley would have been on a decent run, so we knew that they were bringing certain threats.
“It was good to see Michael get off the mark, he’s got stronger as the games have gone on.
“For a little guy, he’s really strong in terms of his link up play.
“He said he just needed to get off the mark. He’s a confidence player, so that’ll do him the world of good.
“But it was a weird half-time because I didn’t feel like we had the control in the game that we’d probably had in previous weeks.
“We changed a couple of things and then we made the subs and opened the game up – it was the players that carried the rest out with some great finishes.
“Charlie Cooper hasn’t even trained with us. He hasn’t even met the lads, the deal took a while to get done on Friday, so the first time he actually spoke to the players was before the game. But he got experience.
“Even though he doesn’t know the lads, his vocal capacity in his organisation was vital at key points for us.
“Believe it or not, we have game plans – plan A and plan B and plan C. I believe in what we do. I think the proof of the pudding’s in the eating.
“We’re fifth in the league, so I don’t have to say any more.”

Seb Thompson’s equalised before the break only for the Nottinghamshire side to take the lead early in the second half.
That was good enough to win the game, but it left Brakes boss Paul Holleran frustrated.
He told the club’s official website: “It was a massively frustrating time to concede that second goal.
“For a team that’s meant to be fighting for its life, the first half was really disappointing.
“It was a real men against boys scenario. Then we get out of jail in the first half with a super strike from Seb.
“We had a little sort-out at half time and tinkered with our shape, trying to add some direction to what we’re doing. You’re thinking then, let’s get on the front foot and around the pitch better. Let’s be more connected to each other with and without the ball, and let’s be braver.
“Within two or three minutes, it’s another awful goal. The corner could have been avoided and then yet again there’s someone tapping the ball in. When a bit of momentum has shifted your way, you have to capitalise on that.”
