SOLIHULL Moors have signed defender George Nurse on a one-month loan from League Two side Shrewsbury Town.
The 26-year-old defender arrives at Damson Park with EFL and National League experience, with Chris Millington adding quality and depth to the Moors squad during a busy period of fixtures.
Solihull boss Millington told the club’s official website: “George is a player with great energy, versatility and Football League experience.
“He’ll give us real balance down the left-hand side and we’re delighted to have him with us for this important run of games.”
Nurse began his career with Bristol City, where he progressed through the academy from the age of seven to the Under-23 setup.
His early senior experience came through a loan spell with Weston-Super-Mare in the National League South, before impressing during a season-long stint at Newport County in 2019/20 – making 26 appearances and scoring a memorable last-minute winner against Carlisle United.
A loan spell at Walsall followed before he made the permanent switch to Shrewsbury Town in July 2021. Nurse quickly established himself in the squad, making 53 appearances in the 2021/22 campaign – more than any other Town player that season.
Despite injury setbacks, the defender has firmly re-established himself at Shrewsbury, featuring regularly across the 2024/25 campaign after ending last season with 25 appearances.
