BOTH Hednesford and Chasetown suffered dents to their promotion hopes on Saturday.
The Pitmen’s long, 14-match unbeaten run came to an end at home to Trafford – after being reduced to 10 men when Simeon Maye was ruled to have brought down Rio Clegg in the 18-yard box.
Clegg picked himself up and converted a penalty which proved enough to sink Hednesford in front of more than 1,300 fans at Keys Park.
Chasetown went down 2-1 at Stalybridge Celtic.
The Scholars never recovered from two Lewis Rawsthorn goals inside the first hour.
Danny O’Callaghan pulled one back in stoppage time for Chasetown – but it came too late.

Stafford Rangers scored a dramatic late equaliser to earn another key point.
Rangers drew 2-2 with Runcorn Linnets at the Stan Robinson Stadium.
All the goals came after the break with Scott Wara opening the scoring for Stafford five minutes into the second half.
But goals from Lewis Doyle and Eden Gumbs gave Linnets the lead going through to the latter stages.
Stafford scored six minutes into stoppage time though through Kaiman Anderson. Rangers are six points clear of the relegation zone.
