HEDNESFORD TOWN boss Gavin Hurren admitted Leek Town ‘couldn’t live with us’ after the Pitmen’s 2-0 victory at Harrison Park on Tuesday.
Goals Ollie Harrison and Ahkeem Rose sealed the points in north Staffordshire.
Hednesford are now in fourth spot in the Northern Premier League – two points off leaders Lancaster City.
Rose added to the four he scored at Coleshill in the FA Cup on Saturday – while Harrison netted against his former club.
And Hurren believes his team have hit top form.

He told the club’s official YouTube channel: “For me, that’s the best half of football we’ve played for a long time – in the first 45 minutes.
“It was some exceptional football. We created so much. The guys were still so hungry. We knew it was a tough place to come. They were an in-form side.
“The lads’ mindset had to be bang at it and they were – they couldn’t live with us.
“We tweaked it and the substitutes that came on saw us home and I thought there was some really, really good performances throughout.
“I just thought we just looked really, really comfortable, really happy for Ollie to score his goal coming back here.
“We’ve been asking Olly and Ahkeem to go and attack – and here they did both did.
“There are clean sheets, plenty of goals, a lot good football being played and playing in the right areas.”
