HEDNESFORD Town boss says his players came through the battle of the Northern Premier League heavyweights on Saturday.
The Pitmen drew 1-1 with title rivals Warrington Rylands in front of 1,366 at Keys Park.
And Hurren admitted his side knew they had had been in a game.
Montel Gibson scored Hednesford’s goal in the first half but Dom McHale was sent off in the seventh minute of stoppage time.
Hurren told the club’s official YouTube channel: “It was a really competitive match. Two very, very strong teams.
“I felt it was a toe-to-toe game, but we had the better opportunities to win it. credit to them.
“They’s got some fantastic players as well. They cancelled us out, we cancelled them out. But then, eventually, you look to break them down, which we did.
“In the first half, especially, we got our goal, but we could have had two, so I was really frustrated with their goal in that sense.
“We spoke about it, but it’s just one of those things, and we didn’t fold, I thought, to the very last, we were not sitting off, we were going to try and get that second goal, but it just wasn’t to be.
“It’s a really positive point though and this is our fortress, isn’t it.”

The Pics were a goal up through Carter Lycett, but the rain made the conditions unplayable.
Rushall boss Ian Long told the club’s YouTube channel: “I had no problem with the game being called off, the conditions were getting really, really bad.
“At the same time, the one thing I was disappointed with was that the pitch was really soft and, with the weather forecast giving rain all day, it was always going to be up against it to get the game completed.
“We got our noses in front with a really good goal. Something that we’d worked on training as well.
“But it was a bit of a wasted day and wasted journey.”
