HEDNESFORD Town are looking back on a ‘perfect’ November that has left them four points clear at the top of the Northern Premier League.
Their latest win came on Saturday at Ashton United – where an Ahkeem Rose goal proved enough to record a sixth league win in a row.
The Pitmen are now four points ahead of Lancaster City and face a title battle on Saturday when they host Warrington Rylands at Keys Park.
Hednesford’s assistant manager Lee Vaughan told the club’s YouTube channel about the momentum that has been built up by the squad.
He said: “I’m really pleased about Saturday’s result, it was a very professional performance again, and another clean sheet, which is absolutely fantastic.
“We had that quality in the final third, and these games come down to who’s good in both boxes. It’s as simple as that.
“This month, results-wise, has obviously been perfect. We can always improve, and we’ll always look at things and try and improve.
“But we’d be nitpicking because that’s a fantastic way to perform.
“These aren’t going to be pretty, these games. If someone tells you that, they’re lying.
“You’ve got to grind out, you’ve got to defend your box and you’ve got to be clinical in the other one.”

Pics manager Ian Long was direct in his assessment of the game.
He told the club’s X account: “We played well, missed chances and lost, it’s as simple as that.
“We dominated a lot of the game again. Three really good chances spring to mind, and we passed them up.
“Last week, there was a worldie that beat us, this week it was an error. and we lost the game. We’re so close, yet so far away.
“It’s a really tough one to take, but we’ve just got to get on with it and push ourselves again.
“We go to Lancaster next, which is going to be a really tough away from home.
“But at the end of the day, the game was lost in both boxes. That’s been pretty much the story of the season. The frustrating thing is we’re so close, and the league so tight, we could go on a run and climb the table.”
