HEDNESFORD Town boss Gavin Hurren said his side ‘turned up and turned it on’ in their 7-0 FA Cup win at Coleshill Town on Saturday.
Akheem Rose scored four goals in the rout – against a side just one level below the Pitmen.
Dan Turner, Dom McHale and Jonny Edwards completed the scoring at Pack Meadow.
The writing was on the wall for the Warwickshire side when Turner and Rose put Hednesford two up inside the first two minutes.
Hurren’s side were five up by half time in front of 447 fans – with their sixth and seventh goals coming in the final 20 minutes.
The Pitmen manager told the club’s official YouTube channel: “It was a really professional display.
“We had them watched on Monday and all I said to the guys was, ‘we have a game plan, we deliver it’.
“And what we worked with on Thursday, I just felt we were going to come away with the win.
“In the first half. I thought we were clinical, I thought the work ethic and absolutely everything that we’ve been asking for, they delivered.
“We’ve had chances all season, and we haven’t taken them early on. This was a tough place to come. We had to be at it, so it wasn’t as easy as probably the scoreline shows.
“But you’ve got to give credit to all of those players. They turned up and turned it on today.
“I say it every week, these boys are special. They’re a good bunch of lads, good people. and they go out and give their all.”
