HEDNESFORD Town manager Gavin Hurren said he would ‘take the positives’ after seeing the Pitmen fight back from 2-0 down to earn a point at Warrington Rylands.
Hurren’s side fell behind early on as Jake Burton scored after just two minutes.
Guy Hall then made it two after 22 minutes to leave Hednesford with a huge task.
But Jake Jervis pulled one back before the break and Nathan Blissett added the equaliser with six minutes to go.
Hurren told the club’s official YouTube channel: “Even at 2-2 we looked like we wanted to go on and win the game.
“I’m really positive, this is a tough place to come and they won’t drop many points, we knew that.
“So to stick in there, and come away with a draw, it’s a big point on the road.
“But I thought we started sloppily. The goals we gave away, especially the first one, were disappointing.
“We need to be better at that. But I believe this team will fight to the very end and we have a squad where I can change it round. So, I made a couple of early changes and they all had a positive impact.
“We’re not going to get it all our own way, but this was a really good game. I’ve got to take a lot of the positives out of this and keep moving forward.”
Rushall Olympic boss Ian Long admitted he was disappointed with Saturday’s performance at Dales Lane which saw the Pics lose their unbeaten start to the season.
Lancaster City took a 3-2 win back up the M6 – with Kian Ryle scoring twice for Rushall.
Pics held a 1-0 lead at half-time, but Lancaster hit back after the break.
Long told the club’s official YouTube channel: “We slightly edged the first half. But in the second, we were nowhere near it and we lost a lot of battles.
“It was disappointing and they lost their way. But, I thought there was a massive decision that went against us early in the second half, it was a penalty.
“But then they go straight up the other end and equalise, we had a little wobble then.
“As a whole, I don’t think, to be honest, certainly from the second half performance, that we deserved anything at the game. I thought we were really poor.
“The lads have gone well this season, and we’ll take positives from today. Kian provided two excellent finishes, to be fair. He took his goals really well – and that’s probably the only positive we can take from the game. We looked a bit naive at times.”
