KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Adam Murray says he was ‘speechless’ after Tuesday night’s defeat at Marine.
Harriers are now placed halfway in National League North after goals from Declan Drysdale and George Newell earned the Merseysiders a 2-0 victory.
Murray told the club’s official YouTube channel: “I think the less I say now, the better. There’s a lot I need to think about.
“But for me, it’s again, two massive errors, which means that we don’t give ourselves a chance to be in the game.
For some reason, people, not everybody, but some individuals, are just not learning.
“We can see it as an early goal from a massive error. And then the second is just it’s comical.
“I’m boring myself, so I know I’m boring the supporters.
“We don’t concede many chances, but the ones we do concede are howlers. The buck will always stop with me, and there are things over the course of the season that I’ve got wrong.
“But when I see this, I’m speechless. We haven’t made a thing about the injuries because I don’t want to make excuses. It’s our job to make things right, but we have missed six or seven big players.
“The one thing we’re missing at the moment is the leadership, we’re missing responsibility on the pitch. That’s a big thing for us. We’re missing a spine.
“There are boys out there who need guidance and help on the pitch.
“I’m not looking for is symphly, by the way, because I’m not that guy, but I’m really, really thankful for the way the supporters reacted towards the players after the game, because.
“They were encouraging. I’m hearing people saying, ‘let’s go again Saturday’, and that’s what they needed to hear.”
But Harriers remain just one point outside the play-off zone.
Murray added: “This league’s going to be so tight. There’s going to be a time where we have to strike, and we have to be in that pack, and it’ll be like this whole season.
“But we’ve got to learn, we’ve got to be better. If I’m being brutal, we need more quality in the team.”
