KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Phil Brown says his players must focus on Saturday’s title decider as they would for any other game.
Harriers can finish top of the National League North if they win at Southport in the final game of the regular season.
Any slip-up means Brackley – second only on goal difference – and Scunthorpe are waiting to pounce.
Brackley host the bottom-placed team Farsley Celtic – while Scunthorpe go to a Hereford side still looking to secure their play-off spot.
But Brown says his side’s form going into Saturday’s game as just as he wants it – especially after beating Hereford 5-1 on Monday.
Goals from Dave Worrall, after just two minutes, with Amari Morgan-Smith and Maz Kouhyar scoring two each, meant Kidderminster were in dominant form.
Omari Sterling-James pulled one back for Hereford but Harriers’ victory was comprehensive.
Now Brown knows the prospect of promotion can be just 90 minutes away.
He told the club’s official YouTube channel: “Hopefully, we turn up in the vein of form that we’re in.
“We’ve got to prepare properly. It’s another game of football. That’s all we’ve been doing over the last 13-14 games.”
Brown tracks Harriers’ progress back to his Sunday morning heart-to-heart with the team after the defeat by Spennymoor at Aggborough in February.
Then, he accused the players of trying to get him sacked – but he admits the meeting had the opposite effect.
Brown added: “We’ve never looked back since then, there were a few home truths fired at them the following day, and they’ve stuck no doubt. Whatever it was we said on a Sunday at 9am.
“Everybody came in, to a man and and stood up to the plate.
“That could turn into action or all sorts of things, but it had to be pointed out.
“If it was me, that it was my fault, I was waiting for that – but nothing came my way. They accepted the finger-pointing. They accepted the blame – and they grabbed it, the responses is there for everybody to see.

“We had 5,500 here on Monday and I love filling stadiums, as all managers do. It’s saying that, one, you’re successful, and two, you’re playing the right type of football.
“Three, you’re giving them some hope and a little bit of belief somewhere down the line, and that’s what we’ve done.
“There’ll be a few travelling to Southport. But the bottom line is that we always focus on one game, and it’s away from home.
“Everybody’s welcome if 5,000 want to come.”
