ALVECHURCH returned to winning ways on Tuesday night – just two days after the resignation of manager Tim Flowers.

Szhem Whyte-Hall and Callum Sullivan scored either side of half-time to earn a much needed win – after a string of poor results and a lack of goals.

It was a result that lifted Alvechurch up to 14th – 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

But Bromsgrove Sporting came crashing back down to earth, suffering a 5-1 defeat at home to Quorn.

Billy Kee, Simeon Cobourne, Luke Cox and Simeon Cobourne put the Leicestershire side four up just after the hour mark.

Jaden Charles pulled one back for Rouslers after 69 minutes only for Finn O’Boyle to complete the rout with two minutes left.

Bromsgrove manager Scott Adey-Linforth told the club’s YouTube channel: “It was a shambles of an evening – but Quorn were excellent.

“We were miles off it though, and it was unacceptable.

“We said we needed a reaction in the second half, we looked better but they scored a third and the game was gone after that.”

Redditch United could not keep their momentum going at leaders Harborough Town.

Liam Dolman and Robert Morgan secured the points – but Mike Fowler’s are still in fourth spot, nine points off top spot.
