KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have sacked boss Phil Brown and assistant Neil McDonald.
Harriers made the announcement this morning (Wednesday), just days after the club’s failure to win promotion to the National League.
Brown’s side fell at the final hurdle when they missed out on the chance to seal automatic promotion last month.
A win at Southport would have seen them win the title, but they lost. That was followed by defeat to Chester in the National League North play-off semi-final at Aggborough on Sunday – a result that ended Harriers’ season.
Brown, who had one year left on his contract, had hinted at a summer squad shake-up – but he has now been dismissed.
He also criticised the players for ‘not stepping up to the plate’ at the crucial stages of the season.
Kidderminster Harriers can today confirm the departure of Phil Brown and Neil McDonald from the Club with immediate effect.

Harriers chairman Richard Lane said: “While we came very close to achieving our goal, the outcome of the season ultimately proved bitterly disappointing.
“We remain firmly focused on our primary objective for the club, which is returning to the National League, we feel now is the right time to make changes before embarking our future campaign.
“I would personally like to thank both Phil and Neil for their efforts during their time with Kidderminster Harriers and we wish them nothing but the best for the future and their next challenge.”
Lane added that appointing a new manager is now a priority.
He said: “The process of appointing a new manager is already underway and we hope to update our loyal supporters on that soon.”
