SOLIHULL Moors boss Matt Taylor has urged his players to ‘trust’ each other more ahead of two major games this week.

Moors travel to newly-relegated Carlisle United – managed by Mark Hughes – on Tuesday night, before taking on Aldershot.

Saturday saw Moors collect another point at Sutton United in a goal-less draw.

Solihull almost broke the deadlock early in the second half when a header from captain Alex Whitmore was cleared off the line.

Taylor told the Moors’ X account: “Hard earned sums up the game. I just felt we didn’t trust each other enough with the ball.

“But what the players did was, they found a way to not get beaten. We wanted to go there and take three points. The boys are confident, buoyant. But I said to him on Friday, if we don’t take three, we take one.

“It’s a clean sheet away from home, and in the league and that’s positive. That’s the first of, hopefully many for of us – clean sheets get you results in games.

“They’ll put their body in the way of the ball and their bodies on the line. But with the ball, we have to do better. We have to risk it more in the final third.

“We have to play quicker. So all in all, I’m relatively happy with a point. I think we’re on a good team, maybe we’re probably a couple of players short of where we need to be.

“But I can’t question their desire or their attitude, they’re a new group and we’re unbeaten at the start of the season, that’s a real positive.

“The fans’ reaction was excellent. They can see that the boys are fighting for them. They’re fighting for the shirt.”
