REDDITCH United boss Mike Fowler said his side’s 3-0 win over Bromsgrove Sporting on Monday was the ‘most complete’ of the season so far.
Matt Warburton scored twice, after Reece Flanagan’s openers, to leave Bromsgrove with just one win to their name so far.
It was Redditch’s seventh successive win over the Rouslers and Fowler told the club’s official YouTube channel: I’ve not been here for the other the other six wins, but I was very aware of them and there was a bit of pressure going on.
“Big crowds for a holiday Monday, and I didn’t want to be the one who changes that momentum.
“But credit to the lads, I could see it in their eyes. I’m talking to him in the dressing room, and I don’t need to say anything. You could see they were ready to go.
“They were snapping into tackles and the boys deserved everything they got. I think we could have got more in the end.
“I don’t think they really landed a glove on us. That’s probably the most complete performance I’ve seen from the lads this season, although the result makes it look better.”
Bromsgrove manager Scott Adey-Linforth was brutally honest with his assessment of his side’s display.
He told the club’s YouTube channel: “We were a million miles off it, Redditch were brilliant.
“I’ve given the players the benefit of the doubt until now – we’ve played three very good teams at home.
“There was a serious lack of quality, I can only apologise to our fans.
“I don’t think we’re doing the basics right I made a formation change, so I take responsibility for that.
“We’ve let the club down, since I’ve been in charge that’s the worst game I’ve been part of. I’ve never had one like that before. We have to stick together now.”
Stratford Town pulled off a 2-1 win at Alvechurch with 10 men – with Henry Landers and Dan Lafferty netting before Jessy Bavanganga pulled one back late on.
It was the Bards’ first win of the season and came after Josh Roney was sent off for two yellow card offences.
Stratford manager Paul Davis told the club’s official YouTube channel: “I thought we defended really, really well, and when you put the ball into the box 50 times, the law of averages says you’ll get something.
“But I’m not sure where the referee got nine minutes of stoppage time from.”
Alvechurch boss Tim Flowers told the club’s YouTube channel: “They didn’t really do anything to us.
“It was a story of having all the possession but not really working the goalkeeper.
“They had two shots on target and scored twice. Congratulations to them. But it’s soft and weak from us. The least we deserved was to nick a point.
“I need to analyse why we’re losing at home when we’re in control of the game. We’ve tossed it away. It knackers your week up.”
Halesowen tasted defeat for the first time in six months when they were beaten 3-0 at home by Worcester City.
Felix Miles put Worcester two up after 20 minutes – and Dan Sweeney made it three in the 88th minute.
Yeltz boss Russ Penn told the club’s official website: ““The performance wasn’t good enough.
“As long as I’m here I will fight, but there was none of that here.
“Worcester played amazingly, they could have scored six more than they did, and we just have to take that on the chin.
“We just wasted the opportunity in a perfect Bank Holiday Monday setting. We’ll have to lick our wounds for a few days. The amount of chances created and goals conceded for our opponents across this season so far is a huge worry.
“We have to react, or there’ll be some players who won’t be here, but I’m confident we will.”
Stourbridge lost at Banbury with a goal four minutes into stoppage time.
Reece Styche scored twice for the Oxfordshire side but a Jez Abbey penalty and Jenson Sumnall’s second half equaliser looked to have earned the Glassboys a point.
But James Alabi popped with the winner to stun Stourbridge.
Glassboys boss Darryl Knights told the club’s official YouTube channel: “It was a tough one to take, just like Saturday.
“We need that nastiness about us, we’re too nice and the last two results have shown us that.”
