HALESOWEN Town boss Russ Penn admitted he was ‘gobsmacked’ after his side failed to hold on to a lead again.
The Yeltz were on course for a valuable three points at third-placed Quorn on Tuesday night.
Two goals from Jason Cowley put Halesowen ahead after Simeon Cobourne had put the Leicestershire side ahead after just four minutes.
But Quorn levelled in the fifth minute of stoppage time through Silvio Bello to leave Penn frustrated.
The Yeltz manager told the club’s X account: “It’s unacceptable now. We were superb and, shouldn’t be talking like this.
“That’s 11 games of 13 now where we’ve been leading. And we’ve only won five of them. So there’s obviously some kind of weakness in defending a lead.
“I’m utterly gobsmacked that we haven’t won the game. We took control second half. But we had three one-on-ones and didn’t finish the game. I’m just frustrated.”
Bromsgrove Sporting lost 3–0 at Worcester City to leave them three points above the relegation zone.
Charlie Wise scored twice before the break before Dan Sweeney added a 57th minute penalty.
Roulsers manager Scott Adey-Linforth told the club’s YouTube channel: “I feel sorry for the supporters who came to watch that.
“We were a million miles off it. They punished us from corners and it wasn’t good enough. We were our own worst enemy at times.”
Stourbridge followed up on Saturday’s defeat at Needham Market with another setback – losing 3-1 at Real Bedford despite a 38th minute equalser from Joe Hull.
But Stratford Town earned a crucial point at Harborough Town – who were toppled from top spot in the division by Spalding Town.
The Bards drew 0-0 after manager Paul Davis had told his in-form side to go there with ‘no fear’.
Davis told the club’s YouTube channel: “They threw the kitchen sink at us, but we stood up to it to man and defended our goal and our box.
“I’ve been here a few times and that’s the quietest I’ve heard the crowd at half-time.
“Not many teams will come here this season and take a point.”
