SOLIHULL Moors boss Matt Taylor urged his players to put on a show for home fans in their final two games of the season.
Moors went down 2-0 at second-placed York City – with Taylor generally happy with the performance against one of the National League’s top teams.
But he was concerned that Moors gave away another early goal – after three minutes this time.
Cameron John got York on their way when he poked in from close range after a ball in from Malachi Fagan-Walcott.
Dipo Akinyemi confirmed the win a minute from time, slotting in to leave the Minsterman on course for 96 points for the season if they win their final game next weekend.
Now Moors host Rochdale on Tuesday before a final game of the season on Bank Holiday Monday at home to Woking.
Taylor told the Moors’ official YouTube channel: “I can’t be disappointed with the players because of the amount of effort they’ve put in over the last two or three weeks.
“We made five substitutes here because we’ve got another game on Tuesday. I’m not going to make excuses. I’m going to stand here and say the truth, I think York are an exceptional team. Both them and Barnet, in my opinion, are miles ahead of a lot of the other teams in this league.

“So we knew how difficult was going to be. But the players went out and they competed. It’s just disappointing that we concede inside the first two minutes, which is happening too often now.
“But we had some spells in the game where we created opportunities, and didn’t take them. Having said that, I can’t say that the better team hasn’t won. They have.
“What we can’t do is keep giving teams, any team in this league, a head start, because it just makes it very difficult for you.
“We’ve got two games left. Both of them are at home. What we want to do is we want to put on a show for our supporters.
“The last time we were at home, we won. They should be confident going into that. What I want to do is make sure that we finish the season, you know, in a positive vein.”
