CHRIS Millington earned a point on the road in his first game as Solihull Moors manager.

Millington was appointed last week following Matt Taylor’s exit – and they took the lead at Eastleigh.

Solihull found the breakthrough two minutes after half-time through Jacob Wakeling’s effort after good work by Ben Worman.

But Harvey Saunders rescued a point for the Hampshire team, who were also under new management after Scott Bartlett was handed the job.

Moors took the lead just after the break

Aaron Blair forced an early save from Moors stopper Laurie Walker and the goalkeeper also denied Ciaran McGuckin.

Blair had two chances in quick succession as Eastleigh pushed for an opener. But it was Moors who took the lead.

The Spitfires levelled in the 69th minute when Saunders nodded home from Archie Harris’ delivery – and they came close to a winner when Kieron Evans fired just wide.

It was a result that edged Solihull towards mid-table after a poor start to their National League campaign.
