MATT Taylor says he needs to clear his treatment room as he made a call for Solihull Moors to be ‘braver.’

The club’s new boss was pleased with large parts of the performance as the hosts slipped to a self-inflicted 1-0 defeat at the hands of Oldham Athletic.

A mistake at the back just before the interval allowed Latics’ striker Billy Waters to grab the only goal.

And Taylor, who is yet to oversee a victory in the National League in four attempts since taking over from Andy Whing, says improvements have to be made.

He said: “We made an error for their goal which needs to be eradicated.

“We played backwards too much and gave a goal away.

“I can’t criticise the effort. We worked much harder. Obviously, we wanted something from the gae but Oldham defended resolutely.”

Moors were hit when skipper Jamey Osborne was withdrawn having suffered a muscle problem.

Taylor added: “We have too many people in the treatment room. Too many who are not contributing.

“We have got to get them out I want to see them on the pitch. We need to get them out of there as quickly as we can.”

Moors travel to high-flyers Barnet next week confirming that he will make one or two tactical tweaks to the side he has inherited over the coming weeks.

He said: “We need the players to be braver. There are some exceptional footballers here.

“I don’t want to watch my team take the easy option.

“We lost and we were applauded off. But I’m acutely aware that we need to win games of football.”
