SOLIHULL MOORS Assistant Head Coach Richard Stearman has left the club to join Championship side Swansea City.
Stearman joined the Moors as a player at the start of the 2023/24 season – bringing a wealth of experience and leadership.
And after calling time on his playing career the following summer, he moved into coaching with both with the first team and in the Solihull Moors Elite Academy.
A statement from the Moors says: “His passion, dedication, and tactical prowess played a key role in shaping the next generation of Moors players and he has also had a huge impact with the first team players both during his time as a player and coach.
“On the arrival of new Head Coach Matt Taylor, Stearman was promoted to assistant Head Coach and was highly thought of by everyone within the club.”
Now, following the appointment of Alan Sheehan as interim Head Coach at Swansea City, Stearman, 37, will take the next step in his coaching journey, joining the backroom staff in South Wales.
His final contribution on the touchline came in Tuesday night’s Senior Cup fixture.
Director of Football, Stephen Ward, said: “Stears has been an outstanding servant to the club, both as a player and as a coach.
“His experience, professionalism, and love for the game have been evident in everything he has done at Solihull Moors.
“While we are sad to see him go, we are incredibly proud of his progression and wish him nothing but success in this new role.”
