OSCAR Rutherford admitted the ‘positivity’ around Solihull Moors persuaded him to sign ahead of EFL clubs.
The defender, 21, has joined from Dagenham and Redbridge for an undisclosed fee.
Having moved to Plymouth to join their Academy as a youngster, Oscar made his name at Eastleigh, making over 70 appearances in his two-year stay and winning their Young Player of the Year award.
He then moved to Dagenham where he scored the Daggers’ goal in the final game of last season at the Moors, although it was not enough to preserve their National League status
Rutherford’s arrival was another boost for Head Coach Matt Taylor in what has been a busy summer for the club.
Taylor said: “Oscar’s a fine athlete and has a very bright future.
“We know there was a lot of interest from other clubs, including those in the EFL, but it speaks volumes for where we are as a club that he chose to come here.
“I want to thank the Chairman and the Board once again for their support in strengthening the squad. I’m really pleased to see Oscar join and can’t wait to work with him.”
Rutherford added: “I came and looked at the facilities, met the manager, and knew straight away that this is where I wanted to play my football.
“There’s so much positivity around the whole club this summer and it’s exciting to be joining.
“Now I’ll keep working in pre-season, keep pushing myself, and hopefully I can play a part in a successful season.”
