MATT Taylor’s winless streak continued at Woking as the Moors drifted further from the play-off pack.
The new boss at Damson Park listed a number of reasons why the club failed to pick up any points from their trip to Surrey following a 1-0 defeat.
Chief among them was the lack of a cutting edge – Moors have scored just twice in five matches since Taylor took charge – and have picked up just one point.
With three of their next four games at home, a sharp reversal in form is required to revive any outside hopes of making an impact on the top seven.
Taylor said: “Too much of the same story. We started really well. We had a game plan. We put balls into areas we thought we could exploit without having anyone on the end of them.
“The over-riding feeling from me is that if you look at the top of the pitch and the areas where we want our boys to be killers we’re relying on players at the start of their journey.
“We have too many influential players not available. Having said that, Marcel was very good, but we made one error. We lost a 50-50 in the middle of the pitch. Other than that, my disappointment is that their keeper hasn’t come off being man-of-the-match.
“It’s another loss. It’s not what we want. There are reasons that happens. We didn’t play with enough purpose when we had the opportunity to cut the opposition open. We weren’t at the level we needed to be to win a game in the National League.
“It’s not bad luck. We have to be better. All of us. Everyone. Not just the players. When they go onto the pitch, they have to be accountable, take on the information. Ultimately, we’re not getting the results we want. We’re in the results business and we’ve lost too many.”
