JEREMY Dale has been confirmed as Birmingham City’s new chief executive.

The former Microsoft executive has been operating on an interim basis following the departure of Garry Cook last season.

But chairman Tom Wagner confirmed the position has now been made permanent.

Dale played a leading role in securing investment from Knighthead Capital after they approached the former owners.

Wagner said: “As we enter an important new chapter for Birmingham City, including our return to the Championship, we’re pleased to appoint Jeremy as CEO.”

“The Club has made significant progress under his leadership in recent months and we are excited for his continued leadership as we maintain our focus on executing our long-term strategy and building a strong foundation for the future.”

Dale will lead the Club and work with the ownership to help advance the Club across football and business operations.

His responsibilities will include strategic development, driving day-to-day operations and performance, accelerating commercial growth, and engage fans and partners across all levels.

“It is an honour to lead this football club as its CEO, a club that means so much to me. The opportunity under Knighthead’s ownership is huge,” said Dale.

“I am excited to be part of their team as we look to deliver on our ambitions.”
