PAUL Davis tried to look on the bright side after Tyrone Barnett’s two headers stopped the Bards in their tracks.
Stratford Town’s chief was painting a positive picture after the final whistle after the powerful Glassboys striker made his mark with a goal in each half.
Barnett nodded home the opener in the 16th minute from Jai Verma’s cross and then he did likewise from a centre supplied by Blaine Rowe eight minutes after the break.
Liam McDonald’s men stopped a run of three successive defeats with victory at the Arden Garages Stadium.
He will be mystified at the inconsistency that has blighted his campaign – but Davis knows that any more slip-ups could be costly.
He said: “It was a bad day at the office. The goals we conceded was soft. It’s a free header from a set piece.
“We didn’t click – although that was our first home defeat since December.
“We now have eight cup finals.
“If you approach each game for what it is, then that’s the We’re still fifth in the league. It’s the middle of March, we would have taken that, wouldn’t we?”
