TIM Flowers spoke of his happiness for Josh Dugmore after his ‘world-class’ thunderbolt.
The winger let fly with a right-foot rocket 12 minutes from time, thumping a shot into the top corner as Alvechurch nabbed the derby spoils against Redditch.
In a scrappy game on a difficult pitch, both managers admitted that quality was in short supply.
But Reds’ boss Matt Clarke magnanimously name-checked Dugmore after the final whistle.
As did Flowers. With good reason.
He said: “Only something like that was going to settle it.
“That strike was an absolute worldie. No-one’s saving that. A wonderful strike.
“I’m so pleased for the kid – he’s had a tortuous time with injury. He’s been trying to get back. Then, he comes back and does something like that.”

Redditch boss Clarke, before turning his attention to the visitors’ issues, said: “Fair play to Josh Dugmore, it was a fantastic strike. He’s been out for a long time. It was a fitting way to win a derby.”
He then added that he needs to find a way to turn around a situation that has become slightly fraught.
The Reds are five points above the relegation zone and are bottom but one in the form table with only Sudbury below them.

He added: “I thought the game lacked quality from both teams. I thought we edged it in terms of terrirtory but we’re having a real rough time in the final third.
“As a lot of games have been that way for us, a one-goal slide.
“Defensively, we were quite solid. It’s a big worry. The front boys aren’t contributing. We’re not creating enough for them.
“With eight games to go, we are fighting for our lives and it’s a big concern.”
