TAMWORTH boss Andy Peaks aims to extend the Lambs’ unbeaten run to five games at Hartlepool on Saturday.
Peaks’ team have bounced back from a 4-0 defeat at York City – and even briefly ended up in the National League play-off spots last weekend.
Tamworth were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Wealdstone on Wednesday – after three wins on the trot, including beating Everton Under21s in the National League Cup.
Former Lambs Nathan Tshikuna opened the scoring for Wealdstone, with Kennedy Digie’s header levelling the scores.
Tamworth now head to the north-east looking to hit the 20-point mark.
But Hartlepool are level on points with the Lambs – and Peaks knows it will be a tough task.
He told the club’s official YouTube channel: “This league’s relentless, we know that.
“We’ve had a couple of home games, we’ve got some points on the board.
“Now it’s two tough away games starting Saturday at Hartlepool, and then Wednesday at Altrincham.
“That’s gonna be really hard up there – we had them watched on Tuesday night.
“Hartlepool played some good stuff. But, in this league, every game’s a test.
“And we’ve got to take the positives from the last few weeks and go there Saturday with confidence.”
Peaks was disappointed not to continue his side’s winning streak on Wednesday – but says the players worked hard for the point.
He added: “The fans saw the boys put a good shift in and claw a point back against the team that are going quite well.
“It’s been a tough few weeks. I think people here appreciate what we put into it.”
