DAN Creaney made Tamworth history on Saturday as his 100th goal for the club paved the way to a victory that ensures the Lambs will play National League football next season.

The Lambs fought back from a goal down to beat Dagenham & Redbridge 3-1 at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

Boss Andy Peaks said at the start of the season that the target was 50 points this season – and they now have 51, just five off the play-off places.

Dagenham had a man sent off after taking the lead – and are now hovering just above the relegation zone.

Creaney – after reaching 99 goals last week – almost reached his ton-up milestone when he headed against the post early on.

But it was Dagenham who took the lead through Ryan Hill’s finish after 22 minutes.

The Daggers began to unravel however, when Chris Francis was shown a straight red card for a late challenge on George Morrison in the 33rd minute – and Creaney then brought Tamworth level from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time.

That was a landmark goal for Creaney – but there was still a job to be done.

Tamworth needed only three minutes of the second half to take the lead through Ronan Maher’s strike – and they made sure of the win when the ball found its way to Haydn Hollis to apply the finish in the 65th minute.
