JAMES Clarke has signed a new deal with Solihull Moors for next season.

The defender has made more than 150 appearances for the club since signing, initially on loan, from Mansfield Town in 2021.

He has helped Moors reach the National League play-off final twice during his time with the club.

Clarke has become a fans’ favourite – but he has also made a contribution off the field as well as on it.

The club say his continued commitment and support for the club’s foundation and local community shows he understands and core values and ethos at the ARMCO Arena.

Head Coach Matt Taylor told the Moors’ official website: “From the first day I arrived I could see how much James meant to this club.

“He sets the standard every day in training, and his professionalism plays a huge part in helping build the culture and environment that we strive for as coaches.

“Not only is he a talented player but an outstanding team-mate and the type of character we want at this club.

“We, as a group of staff, have always wanted Clarkey to be part of the squad for the upcoming season and we’re delighted he’s committed to the club.”

Clarke added: “I can’t wait to get started again. This is a special club for me and everyone has made me feel so at home.

“The fans have been incredible and I want to repay them with the success they deserve.

“I’m ambitious, like everyone else in that dressing room, and we’ve added some really good players this summer,  so involved and I’m happy to be able to play my part in trying to move the club forward.”
