BROMSGROVE Sporting pulled off a stunning late victory at neighbours Alvechurch on Tuesday.
Nile Timson put Church ahead after only six minutes.
But Sporting hit back and Luke Benbow levelled with three minutes left.
It looked like being honours even until substitute Kobe Hall won it for Bromsgrove, three minutes into stoppage time.
Both players scored their first goals for the club
Manager Scott Adey-Linforth told Bromsgrove’s official YouTube channel: “I told the subs they needed to be ready on a hot day and that’s how it happened.
“We were playing our local rivals but for too long, we hadn’t beaten them and we wanted to turn that around.
“After losing on Saturday, we were very critical of ourselves. I was gutted, the lads weren’t happy about the result and they worked hard for this win.”
Alvechurch manager Tim Flowers told his club’s official YouTube channel that the team wasted too many chances.
He said: “I’ve managed a couple of hundred games, but I’ve never had a team. create as many openings as that and not converted them.
“I can’t remember how many chances we had. I said to one of my staff members ‘They’re going to get one here’ – and they got two.
“It’s gut-wrenching but we have to suck it up.”
Halesowen boss Russ Penn asked for an improved performance from his team – and he got it.
The Yeltz beat Barwell 3-1 with goals from McKauley Manning, Jason Cowley and Kyle Finn (70’).
Penn told Halesowen’s official website: “If anything epitomises this level, it was that first half.
“We came flying out of the blocks, and were awesome for five minutes. We conceded minutes later and then the game slowed down. I could feel the frustration around the ground, so I gave the lads a few harsh words at half-time in the hope we would improve the intensity, which we did. It was a good three points and reaction.
“Saturday took a lot out of us, the lads got into bed at half 11, having set off for the game at half seven. It’s a huge positive to have got four points out of six from two difficult games in tough conditions.”
Stourbridge collected a late point at newly-promoted Quorn.
The Leicestershire side went ahead after 34 minutes through Dennis Digie – but Jenson Sumnall equalised for the Glassboys with three minutes left.
Stourbridge boss Darryl Knights told the club’s official YouTube Channel: “I was a little bit disappointed, we weren’t quite at it, but the positive is that we still came away with a point.
“Our subs came on and gave us some momentum – I’ve told the players we’ll need every one of them this season.”
