JAMIE Hawkins is the new manager of Chasetown – after Mark Swann’s decision to step down last week.
The Northern Premier League West club say Swann’s decision was ‘due to personal reasons and circumstances, and the club fully respects and supports his choice’.
Now, Swann’s No2 Hawkins has stepped up and takes charge of the first team.
A statement from the Scholars said: “Jamie brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the role, having been an integral part of Chasetown FC for over five years.
“A hugely experienced individual, Jamie has shown exceptional commitment to the club and a strong understanding of its culture, values, and ambitions.
“The Board are confident that he is the right person to take Chasetown FC forward and to build on the strong foundations already in place.
“The club would like to thank its supporters for their continued loyalty and looks forward to an exciting new era under Jamie’s leadership.”
Following Swann’s departure, Chasetown added: “The Board would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Mark for his outstanding contribution, commitment, and professionalism during his time with the Scholars.
“He has been exceptional for the club, both on and off the pitch, and will be greatly missed by everyone associated with Chasetown FC.
“We remain hopeful that, when the time is right, Mark will return to the club in some capacity. In the meantime, we are confident that he will continue to be a visible and valued presence around the Scholars Ground.”
