CHASETOWN kick off 2026 when they welcome Sporting Khalsa to Church Street on
the opening day of the year.
Jamie Hawkins’ side left Stafford Rangers’ Stan Robinson stadium with three
points last time out on Boxing Day.
And the Scholars boss is keen to back that result up and start the new year how they
aim to continue.
He said: “We hope that we can kick off the New Year with a positive result and will be
giving our all to try and do just that.
“We know just how tough a test Khalsa will pose. They are an athletic side with
pace in their team that we will need to snub out.”
The visitors are the fifth team from the latter half of the table to challenge
Chasetown in a row.
The Willenhall side also earned a victory on Boxing Day when they collected maximum
points against Black Country rivals Darlaston Town.
Hawkins added: “Naturally, in their current position, they will be fighting like crazy for
every inch in the game, so we have to be ready to match that endeavour, work rate
and desire.”
Kick off at the Scholars Ground is at 3pm on New Year’s Day.
