TAMWORTH slipped to a third successive National League defeat when they lost 3-1 at Scunthorpe United.
The result follows the Lambs losing to Rochdale and Carlisle United – all former EFL Clubs – and leaves them in mid-table.
Now Andy Peaks’ side host another ex-League Two side in the shape of Southend United this Saturday.
But they took the lead at Scunthorpe when a ball from Dan Creaney was turned into his own net by Joe Starbuck.
It was Scunthorpe’s game after that though and Carlton Ubaezuonu scored twice.
The Iron levelled three minutes after going behind when when Tyrell Sellars-Fleming latched on to a ball over the top and slotted past Jas Singh when one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
Scunthorpe took the lead in the 75th minute when Ubaezuonu stabbed Zain Westbrooke’s cross into the roof of the net, before he sealed the points by converting a rebound eight minutes from time.
