CHASETOWN go into Saturday’s home game with Trafford looking to stretch their unbeaten record to six games.
The Scholars boast a flawless home record since head-coach Jamie Hawkins’ appointment.
Hawkins’ men entered the new month with an away win at Wythenshawe Town after another decisive Jack Langston goal.
The Chasetown boss said: “I thought we contained and controlled them in the first half…
The second half was a bit more scrappy on a heavy, deteriorating pitch but I was delighted that we found a moment of real quality to win it.”
Now, the Scholars look forward to welcoming Trafford to their backyard, as the foot
of the league team travel down the M6 with their eyes set on gaining another crucial Northern Premier League West result.
Despite having a poor season so far, Town are coming to Chasetown on the back of a positive draw against Congleton Town and a stalemate with Witton Albion last time out.
The teams met in September as the Scholars put three goals past the Greater Manchester side to gain three points in the league.
Since then, Chasetown have a new man at the wheel – and Hawkins said: “At home we have to be positive, aggressive and take the game to whoever our opposition are. We will do our homework on Trafford but our focus will be on ourselves.”
