SPORTING Khalsa were knocked out of the FA Cup in a five-goal thriller with Hereford FC in Willenhall on Tuesday.
The tie was replayed after the original game was abandoned earlier this month due to racial abuse aimed at Khalsa goalkeeper Ravan Constable from some Hereford supporters.
But although Hereford won 3-2, the opening goal did not arrive until the 77th minute – and that opened the floodgates.
Andre Landell put Khalsa ahead but Sam Osborne levelled for the Bulls six minutes later.
Khalsa, of the Northern Premier League West Division, came back though and regained the lead with an 85th minute goal from Bradley Burgess.
That looked to have set up a shock result – but National League North side Hereford came back and levelled the scores two minutes into stoppage time.
And Paul Caddis’ side booked their place in the next round when Eno Nto scored a 109th minute winner in extra time.
Khalsa posted on their X account and said: “Heartbreak in the FA Cup replay.
“Despite goals from Landell and Burgess and a battling performance, Khalsa were edged out in extra time after a late Hereford equaliser forced the extra period. Proud of the fight, proud of the fans. We go again.”
