RICHARD Sneekes has made a call for one of his Rushall players to provide the spark to prove there’s still life in the Pics.
The former WBA and Ajax midfielder sounded deflated after a 2-0 defeat at Warrington Town at the weekend.
And with just nine games to go – and an eight-point buffer separating the Black Country club from safety – time is running out and the pressure is growing to produce.
Ahead of tomorrow’s game with Hereford at Dales Lane, Sneekes said: “It ain’t over until the Fat Lady sings.
“We’ve got a difficult one against Hereford. We’re getting two suspended players back.
“Home games have to be our fortress we have to find some form from somewhere. Someone sparking us with that first tackle. We have to keep believing.
“As hard as it is, we have to keep going.”
Sneekes said after the final whistle blew at Warrington that he was trotting out the same message.
He said: “I keep saying the same things. We huffed and puffed. We had a couple of long-range shots.
“Once things don’t go your way, you have to do it simple. Rather than losing the ball.
“The bottom line is that the table doesn’t lie.
“We gave ourselves a chance in January but in February and March it’s not been good enough.
“The intensity isn’t there. Whatever we seem to do doesn’t have the desired effect.
“We have got to be a lot cleverer.
“We knew this was a must-win game. We didn’t turn up. We didn’t have any intensity, energy, harmony, compactness. I was very, very disappointed.”
