TAMWORTH boss Andy Peaks has urged his side to bounce back on Saturday after losing at York City.
The Lambs went down 4-0 at the LNER Community Stadium in front of 5,400 fans.
Alex Hunt hit a pair of superb strikes as York boss Stuart Maynard made it two wins from two in charge.
A deflected Mark Kitching attempt against the crossbar was as close as they came in the first half, but the hosts found their shooting boots in the second period.
Hunt opened the scoring with a superb effort into the top corner in the 49th minute and produced another marvellous effort four minutes from time.
Alex Newby grabbed York’s second on the hour and Malachi Fagan-Walcott’s header finished things off in the closing moments.
Lambs boss Peaks told the club’s official YouTube channel he wants his players to recover and go again at Suttoin United on Saturday.
He said: “I’m disappointed obviously.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game.
“So we knew what to expect anyway, but I was disappointed with the manner of some of the goals.
“By half-time, Jas Singh had made some saves and I thought they were quite a wasteful in the final third at times.
“We knew he had to defend better, and equally, I wanted to be a bit better when we had the ball. We wanted to improve the quality all over, really, but certainly in the final third.
“This was a game where we wanted to give a good account of ourselves, and I don’t think we probably did as well as we wanted to.
“That one’s gone now. We’re having a good start to the season.
“For me, it’s about getting the lads to bounce back on Saturday, and that starts on Thursday night in training – then we go to Sutton, again, expecting another tough game.
“But these places, like York, are hard to come to, especially on a Tuesday night.”
