DAN Creaney closed in on 100 goals for Tamworth as the Lambs drew with Oldham Athletic.
The Latics opened the scoring in the 35th minute after Mike Fondop was brought down by Cameron Cockerill-Mollett in the penalty area, with Joe Pritchard slotting home the spot-kick.
But Tamworth levelled seven minutes later when Ronan Maher’s left-wing cross found Creaney who headed past Oldham keeper Tom Donaghy for his fourth goal in three games – and his 99th for the Lambs.
Neither side could find the winner although Creaney and Oldham forward Jesurun Uchegbulam both went close in the second half.
Peaks admitted it was a sign of how far Tamworth had come that he was disappointed with a draw against a former Premier League and EFL team.
But he praised Creaney for taking another step towards the magic 100-goal mark.
Peaks told the club’s official YouTube channel: “I’ll mention it to Dan, he’s not spoken about it though.
“But I don’t want to put any pressure on him.
“He tends to score a little patches and once he scores one or two he tends to get more.
“But he’s in a rich vein of form and he’s doing a lot of work without scoring the goals. But to get to 99 goals for this club is a great achievement. The sooner he gets to 100 the better.”
Tamworth took a step closer to the 50-point mark which should be enough to make sure they are playing in the National League again next season.
Peaks added: “We keep saying it’ll be nice to get over the line. That says how far we’ve come. And I’m disappointed to draw to an ex-League club. That says a lot about what we’ve done. But when you sit back and look at it, this was another good point here.
“We have a group of players that are working really hard for the club, that’s what’s kept this run going.”
