ED BARNARD’S mighty unbeaten 141 for Warwickshire boosted the Bears’ Metro Bank One Day competition campaign at Durham.
The Bears opener carried his bat as Warwickshire made 303 for six after Durham had totalled an impressive 300 for seven.
Alex Lees made 148 for Durham – but only Ben Raine (46) came close to making a half century in support.
The Bears reply followed a similar path with Barnard leading the way in an innings that included 16 fours and three sixes.
But he found productive partners in Hamza Shaikh who scored 51 from 69 balls.
Then Michael Booth cut loose with a quick fire 43 not out from 20 deliveries – as the pair put on 72 to seal the game.
Booth hit four fours and three sixes to see the Bears home with 3.2 overs to spare.
It means Warwickshire have hit top form at just the right time – and will be looking for a sixth victory in the competition on Tuesday when they host Sussex at Edgbaston.
