JORDAN Thompson says he signed for Warwickshire due to the county’s ‘clear vision’.
Thompson will arrive from Yorkshire in November on a three-year, all formats deal.
Known in Yorkshire as the ‘man who makes things happen’, Thompson has been a mainstay of the White Rose side in all formats since making his debut in the Blast in 2018.
Thompson, who has played for Yorkshire for his entire career, will join up with the Bears at the end of the 2025 season.

“He brings proven quality in both red and white-ball cricket and valuable overseas franchise experience, which adds depth to our squad and strengthens our identity for the future.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jordan to the Bears family—a player of his calibre and character will be a fantastic asset both on and off the field.”
The 28-year-old, Leeds-born Thompson, has 322 professional wickets to his name with five five-wicket hauls.
He has twice taken 40 wickets in a County Championship season, with a First-Class best of 5/31, and an impressive best of 5/21 in the Vitality Blast.
Thompson is also a skilled batter, known for his dangerous lower-order play and high-tempo ball-striking.
He has a high score of 98 in First Class cricket, averaging 21.94 with the bat in the longest format, striking at a pacey 64.43.
Warwickshire’s first team coach, Ian Westwood, said, “Jordan is a three-dimensional, multi-format player who will be a great addition to our squad both on and off the field. He’s a quality performer who I believe still has his best days in front of him.
“He’s known for his competitiveness and thrives on being involved in big moments on the field. We can’t wait to welcome him to the Bears.”
Thompson had an auspicious start to the summer in the Rothesay County Championship.
He took 15 wickets and scored 178 runs in five matches before being ruled out by a side strain.
Thompson told Warwickshire’s official website: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Warwickshire and starting this new chapter.
“While it was a really tough decision to leave my home county of Yorkshire, the clear vision for the club and the opportunity to play alongside a number of familiar faces make this a truly exciting move for me.

He will officially join the Bears on November 1.
