BROMSGROVE Sporting took a huge step towards mid-table safety with a vital win over Royston Town.
Gustavo Macedo Sanches opened the scoring after just eight minutes – before Billy Shaw sealed the points late on.
It left the Rouslers eight points clear of the relegation zone.
Sporting manager Scott Adey-Linforth told the club’s official YouTube channel: “It was a good win, but we didn’t really kill them off until late on – Royston were a dangerous team.
“But I never felt troubled. We have players who threaten going forward and score goals.
“We turned it around at home, our start to the season wasn’t good enough.”
There was also a debut for Solihull Moors keeper Rory Brown who has joined Bromsgrove on a month’s loan.
Adey-Linforth added: “It’s good to have him here, he’s really bought in to what we’re doing.”
ALVECHURCH lost out 1-0 at title-chasing Harborough Town.
The game was decided by an 80th minute winner from Alex Morris, who put the Leicestershire side back on top of the division.
Alvechurch boss Tim Flowers told the club’s YouTube channel: “We deserved more from the game – but we haven’t scored for five games now and that’s not good enough.
“To add insult to injury, they score off a long throw. The referee was a difficult man to deal with, there was an arrogance there.
“But it was the best we’d played in three or four games.”
HALESOWEN TOWN went down 2-1 at Bury Town.
Fin Holmes equalised after 13 minutes, but George Quantrell scored the winner after 32 minutes.
Yeltz boss Russ Penn told the club’s X page: “We did everything in the second half to get a point.
“But we lost because we were slow out of the blocks, I’m fed up of saying it, that’s three games now.
“We’re waiting for things to happen to kick-start our performance, it’s not acceptable.”
REDDITCH UNITED remain in the play-off places despite losing 2-1 at Needham Market.
Robbie Bunn scored an equaliser before the break, but Seth Carroll-Chambers netted the winner five minutes into the second half.
Redditch boss Mike Fowler told the club’s official YouTube channel: “It was difficult to understand, I questioned the preparation of the lads on the way down.
“We were probably light in terms of personnel who were able to go and deliver a game plan.
“Needham Market are a good team, maybe the best I’ve seen this season.
“But it was frustrating, we had seven wins out of 10, and something had to give.”
STOURBRIDGE gave their survival hopes a boost by claiming a point in a 1-1 draw at STRATFORD TOWN.
Dan Lafferty put the Bards ahead, a minute after the break, in front of a crowd of more than 1,600 at The DCS Stadium.
But Aaron Bishop hit back for the Glassboys just before the hour mark.
Stourbridge coach Drew Canavan told the club’s YouTube channel: “We’ve been on a bad run of form, it was key to go there and get something from the game.
“When they scored, we could’ve scored, and probably would’ve in recent weeks. But we showed some desire and heart.”
Stratford boss Paul Davis told the Bards’ YouTube channel: “It was really frustrating.
“But when you make individual mistakes, you give away a goal. It feels like two points lost.”
WORCESTER CITY moved into mid-table on Tuesday with a 3-0 win at bottom-placed side Stamford.
Liam Lockett gave City the lead in the first half – with Kyle Belmonte and Dan Sweeney adding two after the break.
