HEDNESFORD TOWN boss Gavin Hurren hailed an ‘exceptional’ display after Saturday’s 5-1 at Guiseley AFC.
The Pitmen bounced back from last week’s defeat at home to Stockton with a convincing display in West Yorkshire.
An early own goal, Dom McHale, and two from Jermaine Hylton put Hednesford four up before the break – before Montel Gibson wrapped up the points early in the second half.
The result leaves the Pitmen fourth in the Northern Premier League – seven points off leaders Warrington Rylands.
Hurren could not hide how satisfied he was with the dominant display.
He told the club’s official YouTube channel: “On Tuesday, I thought the first 35 minutes was the best we’ve played all season.
“But we just took it up on Saturday from minute one, the game plan, everything about it, the boys took it with both hands.
“We were just exceptional, it just sort of clicked. I knew the boys were zoned in.
“I say it every week. They’ve got to enjoy playing football. When they crossed that white line, it was over to them and I thought they were brilliant.
“I was happy with Jermaine, and happy with everybody, the performance was really, really good.”
The Pitmen return to Keys Park on Saturday to take on Stocksbridge Park Steels.
