TAMWORTH boss Andy Peaks says his team will ‘give everything’ after the Lambs drew League One opposition in the FA Cup first round for the second year running.

Leyton Orient will be the visitors – with Tamworth looking to spring another FA Cup shock.

Last year, the Lambs beat Huddersfield Town on home territory before winning at Burton Albion in round two.

That led to Tamworth’s famous third-round clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

After the draw, Peaks told the club’s official X account: “We’re delighted to get a home draw — it’s going to be a tough test against a very good League One side, but it’s one we can really look forward to as a club.

“The lads will give everything once again, and we can’t wait to welcome Leyton Orient to The Lamb.”

Orient are currently managed by ex-Leicester City midfielder Richie Wellens who has been in charge at Brisbane Road since March, 2022.

The club are currently midway in League One having won four of their opening matches – and they reached the fourth round last season before losing to Manchester City.

Tamworth’s players celebrated with fans after the first round win over Huddersfield last season

But at the weekend, Dom Ballard hit a hat-trick as Orient crushed Doncaster 4-0.

The game is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, November 1 – but it could yet be picked for TV coverage.

Last year, the Huddersfield game was shown live on the Friday night.

AFC Telford United’s reward for beating Darlington 6-0 on Saturday is another away trip in the first round.

They will go to the winners of Farnham Town or Sutton United, with the replay scheduled for later today (Tuesday).
