STRONG middle order resistance was not enough for Bears Women as they fell to Surrey by 25 runs.
Both teams will be at the Vitality Blast Finals Day on July 27 at The Oval – but Surrey looked more at home on familiar territory.
Having already secured top spot, Kira Chathli top scored with 65 in 31 balls as Surrey piled up 204-5 after being sent in.
The chase was as good as over when Bears slipped to 39 for four in the seventh over – and they could only make 179 for nine.
Surrey have only been beaten once in 14 group matches and easily saw off Bears who went through in third spot.
Chathli struck five sixes in making her first 50 of the competition and Grace Harris made 37 from 25 balls as Surrey piled up their second total over 200 this season.
For Bears, Amu Surenkumar took three for 33.
In deep trouble early in their reply, Laura Harris hit 42 in just 14 balls for Bears, to revive the chase.
Natasha Wraith (32) and Surenkumar (36) provided some valuable support.
But they could not undo the early damage and fell short of the target.
