Beating Newcastle last week has set them up for a chance to go top of the BCB table – just in time for next week’s cup final against Yorkshire Dragons. THIS will be an absolutely massive weekend for us as we set our sights on trying to go top of the table.
A double header against Essex Rebels – followed by the re-arranged home game with Reading Rockets on Sunday – will be crucial to our season.
But after going to Newcastle and winning their last weekend, we’re confident we can keep our challenge going.
Then, next week, we have our BCB Trophy Final against Yorkshire Dragons – which will be just as big for the club.

The Newcastle victory was massive for us, especially losing the way we did last time in a game that went to a triple overtime at our place.
It was a great feeling to get our own back on their home floor. I don’t they’d lost at home all season.
So it means we’re rolling and looking forward to this weekend because obviously if things go our way it’s going to be exciting and gives us a huge incentive.
On Saturday, we’ve got Essex, who beat us at home earlier on in the season, which is a result we always kick ourselves over because we don’t think we should have lost it.
We need to get our own back with them. And then, on Sunday, we’ve got our kind of our ‘name rivals’, Reading Rockets. But they could actually do us a favour on Saturday if they can beat Newcastle.

It’s been a long season, but we’re peaking in terms of form at the moment. We’ve battled through a few injuries and niggles here and there, but I think the adrenaline from how well we’re doing means we can get through it and carry on.
We have our masseuses and our sports therapist, to make yourself available as much as possible. And we’ve got a pretty young team. Apart from me and a couple of other guys, it’s relatively youthful team.
So, you know what it’s like when you’re nice and young, you can just get up and go and carry on with things.
But, when you get to my age, you have to start thinking about taking your Omega 3 in the mornings!

And everything seems to be in our favour right now. We’ve been upset a few times this season with, cancellations of some games.
But we’re finding form and the momentum that comes with that.
It’s all happened for a reason and it’s flowing perfectly for us.
There aren’t many tickets left for the Reading game, so at every home match now, we get a few more bums on seats and we are starting to fill it.
When our home games are really packed out, the atmosphere sounds great. Reading have a fan base too, so it should be electric on Sunday.
